This week seems to have marked many new beginnings in our family.
UNCLE Jimmy and I are celebrating with the Hebert and Miller family for the birth of Arabella Joy Hebert to Jake and Melanie! She was born on Monday, September 9 right before midnight! Although Jimmy and I weren't able to be there, we are rejoicing with the family in spirit! We can't wait to hold and love on sweet Arabella when we see them in Texas soon.

The NEW Hebert Family!
Not only do we have a new niece, but Jimmy also started classes on Monday. In proper fashion, I made him a Back-to-School breakfast: MONKEY BREAD! Needless to say, he had a great start to the school year and is enjoying his classes, professors and reading materials. This semester, Jimmy's courses are Church History up to the Reformation, Jonathan Edwards, Theology Survey I and Christian Ethics.
Delicious New England apples. Apple trees are everywhere!
Potatoes and squash
Blueberries, strawberries and delicious plums!
Part of the fun of living in a new place is being exposed to a new way of living. Adjusting to this new culture has taken a new level of observance and self-evaluation. I find myself double and triple checking the smallest of things: Am I parking correctly? Do I turn right on a red? Am I wearing too much makeup (For the record, many New England women don't wear any makeup at all - so the answer is always YES, I AM.)? It's been an adjustment getting used to this new culture and way of life. I praise the Father for going before me and staying by my side through all of this. Thank goodness my identity isn't wrapped up in where I live, what I look like or what my mannerisms are. My identity is in the Lord and I am His.
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. (NIV)
- Deuteronomy 31:8 -
In Him,
The Millers
