Hello friends and family,
It's official - we've been residents of South Hamilton for exactly two weeks as of today! What a whirlwind these two weeks have been. Many days have been very exciting, some have been hard and sad, others have been frustrating (especially when driving). One thing is for certain: We've made some wonderful friends here at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
God has been so faithful in giving us a community of fellow believers who come from all over the United States and from different walks, yet we are fellow travelers on this seminary road of life. What a joy it's been to fellowship with these couples and families!
Tonight was the Back-to-School Picnic for Bell Hall. Jimmy and I brought quesadillas, queso and the fixin's (proper TexMex meal). I also brought my Mom's famous chocolate-chip cookies. Now, it's typically unfair to bust these out amongst friends so soon since I can manipulate anyone to being my friend after trying them, but I thought it would be a nice way to prove mine and Jimmy's worth while we are living here. :)
Mom's famous chocolate-chip cookies. Want the recipe? Too bad!
All of the residents gathered around the warm grills behind Bell Hall and brought out delicious pot-stickers (or dumplings), fruit, buffalo chicken wings and grilled their main entrees! Notice how many people are wearing jackets and sweatshirts? That's because it was around 65 degrees at that point. I had to wear three (thin) layers to stay warm! I'm so not ready for this cold...
Here are some quick snapshots of the night -

Talking and mingling
Again, delicious yummy food on the picnic table
Jimmy was playing his part by offering queso to the crowd. Most thought it was too hot, we thought it was just right. :)
Some of our wonderful friends in Bell Hall! Sadly, Jimmy wasn't able to be in the picture.
We had a great night tonight around the picnic table. This weekend is our last weekend of no school for Jimmy and we will enjoy it by watching NFL football, cooking yummy dinners and continuing to explore the area!
Much love from us to y'all.
"Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony."
- Colossians 3:12-14 -
In Him,
The Millers
